I would dress like this…every day. EVERY DAY. With the appropriate budget, of course.

Due to high sulfur levels, inhabitants of the Izu Islands had to wear gas masks to survive. What results? Some of the scariest wedding photos ever.
Yeah, here’s another cool one.

Methinks this would translate well to Anubians? More on the sleeves though

Begin Space Pirate Planning NOW!
Starfest (local Sci-Fi Convention) is in April. Thus beings planning!
Ideas thus far:
Cultures must be distinct and visible within the character costuming.
- This means they must match in color palette, fabric choice and garment cut/drape/shape.
Anubis:
- Volcanic (active or dead) planet, so rich farming soil and hot/humid climate=mostly linen or cotton clothing
- Highly stratified class system=distinctive markings in clothing for this. Same shapes, but longer trains (hiked up in front because of strong military tradition), higher collars, rich linings etc
- No need for camouflage on ships, or planets. Are proud to be Anubian and want fighting forces to been seen and feared.
- Types: Formal dress (functional battle gear worn by noble commanders only-usually for political functions but occasionally on battlefield) Basic (worn by all, variations on a theme) and Stealth (sleeker, mostly articulated armor for spec ops missions)
- Reds, silvers, blacks
Valkyrie:
- Arid, more mountainous climate means less farming space and more pastoral farming=more wools, quilted fabrics, fur, tapestry fabrics.
- Culture which celebrates triumph and achievements of the individual means basic elements of military costuming are standardized, but lots of room and space for unique and specific garb and changes within factions or among individuals.
- Need for camouflage on ships (especially in later days of war where ships are boarded and after the Battle of Valkyrie (fighting on own terrain, need stealth to out-maneuver Anubians)
- Utilitarian dress for all-need to be functional, have everyone working (separate groups and subsets of military from similar location, with similar background, specialty or what-have-you have specific markings and garb)
- Greens, golds, browns
ALSO.
I’d like to have a picnic. Steampunk style.
